The best exhaust?
Hey guys new here and looking into tapping into some of your knowledge. I own a 04 gsxr750 and since spring is creeping on quickly Ive decided that exhaust is a must this year. Im not sure if I wanna do a full exhaust or just a slip on. I really like this vid I've attached, I like the way its higher and behind the passengers pegs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9AQvF-NQk0
I tried looking for that setup and couldnt find anything from D&D. so whats the best setup, and what would you all sugest?
thanks, Wildstreak

Re: The best exhaust?
Any exhaust will work... if you're not doing trackdays or any sort of racing (I'm talking about legit racing, not ghey-ass street racing) than it comes down to what YOU like sound and visual-wise.
If you want to go D&D be prepared to deal with complaints from your neighbors.

Re: The best exhaust?
what was so bad that I asked?
well anyways, I dont live in suburbia I live in the sticks and dont really have neighbors. I would like to hit the Spokane track once in awhile seeing how its so close. But really Im just looking here to see what some of you guys are running at what sounds good. I want something similar to that setup is all.

It's one of the most commonly asked questions in all motorcycle forums. You can imagine that it can become a little tedious answering that question over and over and over and over and over again when all the original poster (OP) had to do was use the search function....

Actually you're a lot closer to Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA than the track at Spokane, WA... clear on the other side of the state. Pacific Raceways is about 3 hours away from Vancouver. Assuming you're in Vancouver...
If you want to see or find out what others are running you look for the "What Exhaust Are You Running"thread... or something along that line.

I know but when I searched, and so many topics come up and I didnt wanna sift through questions that didnt relate to me and my bike. I figured someone would have an opinion or post a link to a thread that relates. its really not that tedious, if you didnt want to read it you didnt have to right.

Re: The best exhaust?
do you know of any thread about later model exhaust on an 04 750? I really like the yosh trc but they dont really offer a kit for the 04. how hard would it be to make that work with my 04?

@eyecandy
granted Im sure it has
Im not getting pissy, I just find it funny that people get pissed of by repeated questions and yet you found the time to respond to this, yet a simple "here's a good thread to check out" is taxing? try searching you get a hundred different threads, half with no explanation with them at all(some dont even have pics, I would like to see what they are using). then sift through 10 more pages to ask your question to person that might not even be on the forum anymore. so get of your high horse, isnt this is a forum for knowledge, then dont be an asshole. Im not trying to be one, but I chill at a few other forums and and this type of thing happens lots. its really not that hard to ignore or direct a person to a thread that relates. Ive been riding for years and i just figured since I had success with one forum, I would try one that relates to my gixxer. maybe it was a bad choice for A title but I wanted people to check it out, if you read the question it actually asks about the D&D exhaust and how I could find a setup similar. sorry to be so troublesome on my first days here.

Re: The best exhaust?
i vote for two brother exhaust, but its a bit pricey, so basically it all comes down on your budget, or willingness to spend.

Re: The best exhaust?
I have had a set of two brothers on my dirtbike many years ago and really liked the sound of them. Money isnt really that big of a worrisome , I have 3k saved for exhaust and power commander, and hopefully some fairings(if I cant find them) Im just trying to find what suits me the best.

So what youre saying is you want to us to search and sift thru the nonsense threads so you dont have to? Thats what I take your comment as. Maybe thats not what you meant, but its kinda comes off rather ignorant, "like Im not going to waste my time searching, but I dont care about other peoples time so they can do the work for me".
Anyway, the answer is truly subjective. If you ask 10 different people, youre probably going to get 10 different answers... Mainly Yosh or Akra if you want something good, 2 Bros or D&D if you want loud, obnoxious, piss everybody off in a 3 mile radius.

Re: The best exhaust?
No I searched and read through all the exhaust topics that came up in my search, but 9 out of 10 times someone asks about an exhaust someone replies with "have you searched" so I didnt really find many answers. I wasn't asking for anyone to search, but what I meant is "is it harder to forward a link to a related topic or just post an easy answer rather than trying to tell someone who is new that this is a stupid question". sorry for the confusion.
back on track, I really like the D&D, but cant find a high mount kit like the one in the previous link. would I just find or build a custom bracket? I have been looking on you tube as well trying to hear something that I like at both low rpm and high rpm's and I like the sound of that D&D's growl on the low end the most so far, but its hard to tell with some of the crappy vids. Do the yosh pipes offer more hp gain than that from the D&D?

Re: The best exhaust?
exhausts are more for sound then anything. even with a full exhaust and power commander, youre talking minimal hp gains. as far as high mounts go, there were only 2 that I know of... Micron used to make one, but Im not sure if theyre even in business anymore, and bruce fabrication.
