Lost A Good Friend Today
Got to my club meeting this evening and unfortunately was told that one of our members from our Inland Empire (Southern California) Chapter was involved in a fatal accident this afternoon.
His name was RJ. He leaves a fiance. He had been part of the DBL R for a long time. Really cool and nice guy and one pretty good damn rider.
Unfortunately his family lives out in Georgia, so hopefully they can figure out how to get his body out to them. Such a sad feeling to know that one of your good friends just past away.
My heart filled condolences go out to his family, friends, and my fellow DBL R family. We definitely lost a really good guy today.
RIP RJ.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - A 28-year-old man, popping a wheelie on a motorcycle outfitted with a small camera, died Wednesday when he slammed into a truck that was making a left turn.
Police said the rider, a resident of Lake Elsinore whose name was not released, was riding on one wheel on Foothill Boulevard just before he struck the truck, which was turning into a parking lot near Victoria Gardens.
A small camera with a 5-inch LCD screen was found near the rear of the motorcycle.
"We don't know if that was used to record what they were doing," said San Bernardino County sheriff's Detective Mike Landavazo.
The rider popped a wheelie on his motorcycle driving west on Foothill from Day Creek Boulevard, police said. He landed the front wheel but unsuccessfully tried to stop before hitting the truck, Landavazo said.
The motorcycle's brakes were locked when he tried to stop, police said.
The impact threw the motorcyclist into the truck and over it, police said. He died instantly, despite wearing a helmet.
The driver of the truck, Erasmo Chamorro, 31, of Rialto, was interviewed and released. He was not cited, but the investigation is ongoing, Landavazo said.
The officer did
not know how fast the motorcycle or the truck were going. The speed limit there is 50 mph, he said.
Onlookers Wednesday said the truck tried to make a left turn from Foothill into the parking lot of Chick-fil-A at Victoria Gateway.
Some believed the motorcyclist could have been at fault because he popped a wheelie.
"That's why I have my son here," said Demetrius Lefete, 37, of Fontana. He said the accident was a good lesson about the dangers of stunts on motorcycles for his 13-year-old son Demetrius Jr., who wants one.
"I'm not going to get a bike anymore," the son said.

Here's the Article that should have been written!!!
Former Marine known as leader of motorcycle club
By Wes Woods II, Staff Writer
RANCHO CUCAMONGA - Friends described a 28-year-old motorcyclist who died Wednesday as a great rider who was not at fault in the accident that claimed his life.
Rashawn Mykal Brown, of Rancho Cucamonga, was performing a wheelie on his 2003 Yamaha motorcycle right before he struck a truck, which was turning into a parking lot near Victoria Gardens.
Friends of Brown said the driver of the truck was at fault for making an illegal left turn.
"It's very important to clarify that you can't blame it on whether they were stunting or not. He has the right of way," said Manuel Castaneda, 31, of Highland.
Police have not said if Brown or the truck driver were at fault.
Brown was a road captain and prospects manager for the Ruff Ryders Inland Empire Chapter, friends said Thursday. The chapter has 20 riders with about seven prospective riders. Castaneda is also a member of the motorcycle club.
The Ruff Ryders name is also attached to a record label, featuring hip-hop artists DMX and Eve, and a clothing line.
After popping the wheelie driving west on Foothill Boulevard, Brown landed the front wheel but couldn't stop from hitting a Chevrolet truck driven by Erasmo Chamorro, 31, of Rialto. Chamorro, who was on the eastbound side of Foothill, was trying to make a left turn from a left-turn lane into a parking lot near the mall when Brown hit his truck.
Brown, who was wearing a helmet, locked his brakes, slammed into the truck and then was sent over it.
The driver was not cited after the accident, but police have said the investigation is still ongoing. The truck is responsible for yielding the right of way in traffic, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Detective Mike Landavazo said Wednesday.
Ruff Ryders Inland Empire Chapter prospect manager Andrew Diaz, 31, said that a camera on the back of Brown's motorcycle was not being used to record stunts, despite what police said Wednesday.
"For one, you can't film yourself," Diaz said. "The camera was for his rear view, to see traffic behind him. The camera wasn't set up to film yourself."
Landavazo disagreed and said the extreme stunt films the Ruff Ryder organization has came out with had to be filmed one way or another.
"Obviously he belongs to a group that films extreme stunts. He has camera equipment. You kind of do the math," Landavazo said.
Landavazo said Thursday that it could take between 30 and 90 days before fault is determined.
Castaneda said Brown was such an experienced driver that if he had attempted a wheelie, he would have made sure no one was in front of him.
"It's too bad we lost somebody who had their stuff together so much. He was always smiling. He never had any conflict around him. He was just easy to get along with," Castaneda said.
Castaneda said Brown was an active-duty Marine and was called back for redeployment in October. He was scheduled to be deployed to Hawaii, Castaneda added.
Brown drove a truck for a carpet distribution company and had a Class A driver's license, Castaneda said.
He added that Brown had a passion for basketball and had played for Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, Kobe Bryant's father and the coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, on a semi-pro basketball team in Long Beach. He also coached youth basketball teams and set up community service drives.
A candlelight vigil for Brown Wednesday night drew more than 100 members from the Los Angeles and Inland Empire chapters, he said.
A memorial service will be put together when Brown's family from Georgia arrive to the area, Castaneda said.
"He was a very open-hearted person. If he didn't know you personally, he would welcome you with open arms," said Ruff Ryders motorcycle club member Ramon Terrazas, 24, of Fontana.
"We never thought it would be one of our own."
