Drag racing?
ok so next Saturday we are going to a drag strip in Havana IL, I have NO IDEA how to begin to do it! Has anyone of you done this before? and if so do you have any tips?

practice!!! Practice launching before you go, learn how to feather the clutch. The track will be completly different than the street tho, you will hook!!! stay low and try to keep the front wheel down.

Also I would try to launch your bike at 7-9grand. check out the other sites, they have drag racing forums there will be plenty of reads for a first timer, good luck!! I wish I wasn't working saturdays I would've met you down there, I can't wait to see what this turbo can do!

first run you might wanna try launching in 2nd less tourqe and dont have to worry about hitting neutral by accident

You'll have to slip it through most of first or it will want to stand up, and practice is a must! It takes time but you'll get it! I used to drag my 01 1000, best was a 10.42 @ 144 it was stock but fun!

also I heard you burn your clutch up doing this, is that true?

You can put some pretty serious strain on your clutch! I wallowed the rivets on my clutch basket on my stock 01 1000, but that was a lot of draggin! Probably not that bad if you just go for the occasional trip to the strip!

we have another couple thats going with us and she said when she went last 3 years she never saw any girls do it  so of course that makes me want to do it even more....I always look for any Opportunity to play with the big boys!

Have fun, and I've never done it but my best friend has been trying to talk me into coming back up to Va. where I use to live and going draggin with him. He's done it alot, and I so want to try it.
Good luck and def show those boys how it's done girl.  lol
